Frequently asked questions

What types of matters do you review?

Medical care in jails, prisons, and detention facilities, including medical and mental health care, withdrawal management, deaths in custody, and health program administration.

Do you work for plaintiffs, defendants, or both?

Both. I accept matters from plaintiff and defense counsel, and my opinions follow the records, not the side that retains me.

How are fees structured?

Hourly, tracked to the nearest tenth of an hour and invoiced monthly, with payment due within 30 days. Terms are confirmed in a written retention agreement before any work begins.

Is a conflicts check performed?

Yes. I run a conflicts check before reviewing any case material, and I review only what you send after we agree on an engagement.
